La photographie permet \u00e0 Lucasi de saisir un moment dans le temps, de se rappeler les d\u00e9tails de souvenirs oubli\u00e9s. Il aime prendre des photos de moments pr\u00e9cis de la vie inuit et de partager sa vision de ces moments avec autrui. Originaire de Kangiqsujuaq, il compl\u00e8te pr\u00e9sentement sa 3e ann\u00e9e en communication au coll\u00e8ge John Abbott de Montr\u00e9al o\u00f9 il poursuit son apprentissage de la photographie.
Ce sont la terre et les animaux du Nunavik qui l\u2019inspirent. Il a pass\u00e9 de nombreuses heures \u00e0 camper et \u00e0 chasser sur le territoire avec son p\u00e8re, suivant ses traces, apprenant de sa grande exp\u00e9rience, approfondissant son lien avec la nature. Il t\u00e9moigne : \u00ab J\u2019ai toujours aim\u00e9 \u00eatre dehors, j\u2019ai pass\u00e9 des heures durant mon enfance \u00e0 jouer dehors et pour moi c\u2019est juste naturel d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur et de ne faire qu\u2019un avec le territoire. Je pense que sans m\u00eame le r\u00e9aliser, ceci se voit dans mon travail. C\u2019est ce que les gens disent, qu\u2019il sente une sorte de connexion entre le territoire et l\u2019image. \u00bb Ses sujets privil\u00e9gi\u00e9s sont les animaux, les paysages et la vie inuit en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral.
Son travail fait partie de la collection des arts du Nunavik de l\u2019Institut culturel Avataq. En 2022, il a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019exposition Avec les saisons<\/em> \u00e0 la galerie McClure de Montr\u00e9al et What sustains us<\/em> au Mus\u00e9e McMaster de Toronto, toutes les deux commissari\u00e9es par asinnajaq. Il a aussi particip\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019exposition Land of None \/ Land of Us<\/em> au Sommet des arts de l\u2019arctique et fera partie de l\u2019exposition \u14c4\u14c7\u1466\u144e\u14c2 \u1455\u146f\u14a5\u14c7\u1550\u1450\u1581\u144e\u1557\u1466 \/ Our Land, Our Art \/ Notre territoire<\/em>, notre art au Mus\u00e9e canadien de la nature qui d\u00e9bute le 2 d\u00e9cembre prochain, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 la s\u00e9rie vid\u00e9o Co-Extinction<\/em> traitant des changements climatiques au Nunavik et organis\u00e9 par ITK.

Photography allows Lucasi to freeze a moment in time, to remember the details of forgotten memories. He likes to take pictures of specific moments in Inuit life and share his vision of these moments with others. From Kangiqsujuaq, he is actually completing a third year in Communication at John Abbott College in Montreal, pursuing is learning of photography as a medium.
The land and the animals of Nunavik are what inspire him. He spent many hours with his father camping and hunting on the land, following in his footsteps, learning from his wealth of experience, deepening his connection with nature. He says: \u201cI\u2019ve always liked being outside, growing up I would spend hours and hours playing outside and I think it just feels natural to be outside and connecting with the land. I think without me realizing it, it shows in my pictures. That’s what people say, like there is some kind of connection between the land and the image.\u201d His favorite subjects are animals, landscapes or just testifying Inuit life in general.
His work can be found in Nunavik Arts Collection at the Avataq Cultural Institute. In 2022, he participated in the exhibition With the Seasons <\/em>at the McClure Gallery in Montreal and What sustains us <\/em>at the McMaster Museum of Toronto, both curated by asinnajaq. He also participated in the exhibition Land of None \/ Land of Us <\/em>at the Arctic Arts Summit and will be part of the exhibition \u14c4\u14c7\u1466\u144e\u14c2 \u1455\u146f\u14a5\u14c7\u1550\u1450\u1581\u144e\u1557\u1466 \/ Our Land, Our Art \/ Notre territoire, notre art <\/em>opening at the Canadian Museum of Nature on December 2nd, as well as participating in the ITK video series Co-Extinction<\/em> about the Climate change in Nunavik.
