Son travail a \u00e9volu\u00e9 au fil des ans, d\u00e9peignant la culture inuit avec une diversit\u00e9 de sujets \u2013 la fabrication de kamik, la p\u00eache et la chasse ainsi que des outils traditionnels comme le ulu ou l\u2019avataq \u2013 repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s avec une touche personnelle qui d\u00e9marque son travail. Depuis 2016, elle partage sa passion et ses comp\u00e9tences en donnant des ateliers dans diff\u00e9rentes communaut\u00e9s avec le soutien de la commission scolaire Kativik Ilisarniliriniq. En f\u00e9vrier 2021, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9e \u00e0 participer \u00e0 une nouvelle exp\u00e9rience artistique lorsqu&#8217;elle a travaill\u00e9 en tant que co-commissaire aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de Qumaq M. Iyaituk et Lyne Bastien afin s\u00e9lectionner les \u0153uvres d&#8217;art de la prochaine exposition du mus\u00e9e de Joliette. Ensemble, elles ont s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 60 tirages r\u00e9alis\u00e9s par 26 artistes de diff\u00e9rentes communaut\u00e9s pour cr\u00e9er un beau corpus d&#8217;\u0153uvres de haute qualit\u00e9 qui offre une vision \u00ab nunavimmiut \u00bb de notre monde et qui d\u00e9montre \u00e0 quel point les gens de la r\u00e9gion sont talentueux. \u00ab J&#8217;ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 parler de l&#8217;exposition \u00e0 des amis et \u00e0 la famille et \u00e7a commence \u00e0 sembler plus r\u00e9el depuis que nous avons fait le travail de commissariat en f\u00e9vrier, j\u2019en suis vraiment enjou\u00e9e ! \u00bb dit Maggie. Elle a \u00e9galement mentionn\u00e9 combien elle a appris au cours de ce processus puisque c&#8217;\u00e9tait la premi\u00e8re fois qu&#8217;elle \u00e9tait commissaire d&#8217;une exposition pour un Mus\u00e9e. Ce fut pour elle une exp\u00e9rience formidable.<br>\nMaggie a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9e pour le projet d&#8217;\u00e9changes de r\u00e9sidences circumpolaires pour les artistes autochtones The Right to be Cold, initi\u00e9 par l&#8217;institut Goethe, en partenariat avec l\u2019Institut culturel Avataq. Ainsi, Maggie Napartuk et Niap Saunders voyageront en novembre au Centre Malakta, \u00e0 Malax, en Finlande, o\u00f9 elles consacreront du temps \u00e0 leur pratique artistique dans un autre environnement nordique. \u00ab Je sais avec certitude que je serai inspir\u00e9e \u00bb dit Maggie. Dans la cadre du m\u00eame programme d\u2019\u00e9change, Marije Jenssen, une artiste textile sami de Norv\u00e8ge effectue actuellement un s\u00e9jour d\u2019un mois \u00e0 Inukjuak, et si la situation le permet, Svetlana Semenova, une cin\u00e9aste yakoute de la Sib\u00e9rie voyagera au Nunavik plus tard cette ann\u00e9e.<br>\nMaggie aimerait partager son exp\u00e9rience. Le travail qu\u2019elle a effectu\u00e9 d\u00e9montre que lorsqu\u2019on a l\u2019occasion d\u2019essayer, cela peut mener \u00e0 une exp\u00e9rience tr\u00e8s enrichissante, m\u00eame en ne sachant pas comment faire au d\u00e9but. Elle d\u00e9crit son exp\u00e9rience comme enrichissante et encourage chaque artiste au Nunavik \u00e0 travailler sur son art, de poursuivre une carri\u00e8re et de gagner de l\u2019expertise.<br>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-very-light-gray-background-color\">\nMaggie Napartuk has an exciting upcoming month with the opening of the exhibition \u201cRevival:\nPrintmaking in Nunavik (2015-2019)\u201d at the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019art de Joliette, as well as her first artist\nresidency in Malakta Centre in Finland, in partnership with Goethe Institute and Avataq Cultural Institute. <br>\nMaggie is a multidisciplinary artist from Inukjuak working as a printmaker since 2016 . Her work has evolved through the years, depicting Inuit culture with a diversity of subjects &#8211; kamik making, fishing and hunting as well as traditional tools like ulu or avataq \u2013 represented with her personal touch that makes her work stand out. Together, they selected sixty prints done by twenty-six artists from different communities to create a beautiful body of high-quality works providing a Nunavimmiut vision of our world, and showing how talented people in the region are. \u201cI\u2019ve started telling some friends and family about the exhibition and it is starting to feel more real since we did the curating in February, I\u2019m very excited about it!\u201d Maggie said. She also mentioned how she has learned during the process since it was her first time curating an exhibition for a museum. It was clearly a great experience for her. <br>\nMaggie was also selected for the circumpolar residency exchanges project for Indigenous artists\ncalled The Right to be Cold, initiated by the Goethe Institute in partnership with Avataq Cultural Institute. Thus, Maggie Napartuk will be travelling with Niap Saunders in November to Malakta Centre, in Malax, Finland, where they will dedicate time to their artistic practice in another Northern environment. \u201cI know for sure that I will be inspired\u201d Maggie said. As part of the same residency project, Marije Jenssen, Sami textile artist from Norway, is staying for a month in Inukjuak and if the situation allows it, Svetlana Semenova, a Yakuts film maker from Siberia will travel to Nunavik later in the year. <br>\nMaggie would like to share her experience. The work she has done shows that even starting without knowing how, when given the opportunity to try, it could lead to a very uplifting experience.
