Thomassie Mangiok, d\u2019Ivujivik, est le directeur de l\u2019\u00e9cole de son village. Il est aussi un designer graphique qui a fait plusieurs logos d\u2019organisations du Nunavik. Il travaille depuis longtemps sur un projet qui sera prochainement lanc\u00e9, Nunami, le premier jeu de soci\u00e9t\u00e9 moderne inuit.
\nNunami est un jeu bas\u00e9 sur les valeurs inuites et l\u2019environnement. \u00ab Chaque fois que vous jouez, le jeu est diff\u00e9rent parce que la disposition change et les cartes sont diff\u00e9rents. Le d\u00e9veloppement d\u00e9pend de qui vous \u00eates et permet d\u2019explorer l\u2019environnement en se d\u00e9couvrant soi-m\u00eame, ses forces et ses faiblesses. \u00bb Le manuel d\u2019instructions sera disponible en inuktitut, anglais et fran\u00e7ais. Le jeu est \u00e9galement une cr\u00e9ation interg\u00e9n\u00e9rationnelle car Thomassie a impliqu\u00e9 sa m\u00e8re Passa ainsi que sa fille Pasa, qui ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 des estampes et des dessins pour le jeu.
\n\u00ab Partout \u00e0 travers le monde, jouer est un aspect important de l\u2019apprentissage, il en est de m\u00eame chez les Inuits. Le syst\u00e8me d\u2019\u00e9ducation actuel que nous avons ne fait pas partie de qui nous sommes en tant qu\u2019Inuits. Autrefois, il y avait des jeux et des chansons pour r\u00e9soudre des conflits et les enfants apprenaient en imitant leurs parents \u00bb a expliqu\u00e9 Thomassie.

Thomassie Mangiok, from Ivujivik, is the school principal of his hometown. He is also a graphic designer who has made multiple logos for Nunavik organizations. He has been working for a long time on a project which will be released soon, Nunami, the first Inuit modern board game.
Nunami is a game based on Inuit values and the environment. \u201cEach time you play, the game is different because the layout is different, the cards are different. The game development depends on who you are and you get to explore the environment and meanwhile you get to explore yourself; your strengths and your weaknesses.\u201d Nunami is played with numbers so you just have to know how to count to be able to play, no matter what language is spoken. The instructions manual will be in Inuktitut, English and French. The game is also an intergenerational creation since Thomassie involved his mother Passa and daughter also named Pasa, to do the game\u2019s prints and drawing.
\u201cEverywhere in the world, playing has been a big part of learning and it\u2019s the same for Inuit. The current education system we have is not part of who we are as Inuit. In the past, there were songs and games to resolve conflict, and children would learn by imitating their parents.\u201d explained Thomassie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
